The municipal and industrial water supplies would be 'available for

use within the boundaries of the Tri-County Water Conservancy District.

The municipal water would be made available to residential users, and the

industrial water would be provided for light industrial uses siillilar to

those already in the valley. Most of the supply is planned for use in

.
,

Montrose; Olathe, Delta, and surrounding rural areas under the piped

system of the Tri-County Water Conservancy District. The remaining

supply would be available for use anywhere in the district, the only

restrictions being that only 5,100 acre-feet of the supply could be
,

"

diverted above the M and D Canal in order that adequate fishery flows

would be available in the river between the reservoir and the canal.

The project water supplies would be distributed through existing facilities

or facilities constructed by the Tri-County Water Conservancy District

or the water users.

The water reserved for recreation use at the Ridgway Reservoir would

be used for irri~ation of trees, shrubs, and parks. It would also be used

for drinking water and for sanitary facilities there.

The plan includes two public recreation areas. at the reservoir, and

measures to enhance fishing opportunities, improve wildlife habitat, and

mitigate wildlife habitat losses caused by the reservoir development.

.J..~ . . .
~ _ ~\Jcf': ..:-
