The surge <br />demonstration site consisted of approximately 14.5 acres. This <br />ground is used successfully for tilled crops and are moderately <br />susceptible to erosion. The demonstration plot was established on <br />Wheat. <br /> <br />Farm #M8 is 35 acres irrigated orchard in family operation. <br />Apples, Pears, Cherries, and Peaches are the major crops. The <br />surge demonstration site consisted of approximately 30 acres. <br />Water holding capacity is fair, soils are not highly susceptible to' <br />erosion. The demonstration plot was established on a mature Apple <br />orchard. <br /> <br />Farm #M9 is 70 acres of irrigated farm under family operation. <br />Corn, Alfalfa, Oat cover, and Pasture grasses are the major crops. <br />The surge demonstration site consisted of approximately 9 acres. <br />The demonstration plot was established on Corn. <br /> <br />Farm #MlO is 76 acres of irrigated farm in family operation. Sweet <br />Corn, Beans, Corn seed, Lettuce, and Broccoli are the major crops. <br />The surge demonstration site consisted of approximately 10 acres. <br />Water holding capacity of the soil in this farm is fair. These <br />soils are not highly susceptible to erosion. The <br />demonstration site consisted of approximately 16 acres. The <br />here require careful management, because the subsoil is <br />textured.
