Team leader for de- <br />tailed study for dynamic loading and seismic stability for four hydraulic <br />fill dams (Lake Almanor, Crane Valley, Butt Valley, and Lake Francis) in <br />California, U.S.A. <br /> <br />Board member for design and construction of the California Aqueduct. <br />Consultant to the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. of California for design <br />and construction supervision of the Helms Creek Pump Storage Project, <br />comprising six miles of 12.25 meter diameter tunnel and 1,050 MW power <br />plant, and on safety of 57 dams. <br /> <br />Co-author of report on detailed safety inspection and review of the Oro- <br />ville Dam in California. <br /> <br />Consultant to Southern California Edison Company on the safety of 24 dams. <br /> <br />Special Consultant for Engineering Consultants, Inc. on the design and <br />supervison of construction of the Pantabangan Dam and appurtenant struc- <br />tures in the Philippines. The dam is a 115 meter high, 1,400 meter long, <br />9,500,000 cubic meter earth and rock embankment. The project includes two <br />7.5 meter diameter, 600 meter long tunnels for diversion and power <br />waterways, a 100 MW power plant and a large gated concrete chute spillway <br />for a maximum discharge of 4,200 cubic meters/second. <br /> <br />Member and Chairman of the International Board of Consultants for the <br />Sirikit Dam Project in Thailand for which ECI provided engineering ser- <br />vices to the Royal Irrigation Department for the feasibility study, <br />designs and construction supervision. The Board reviewed and approved of <br />designs and construction. The Sirikit Project includes a 109 meter high, <br />760 meter long earthfill dam, containing 10,800,000 cubic meters of fill <br />material. The project also includes two 13.7 meter horseshoe shaped <br />diversion tunnels, each 810 meters long; two 8.5 meter diameter power <br />tunnels, each 640 meters long; two tunnel-type gated spillways for 4,500 <br />cubic meters per second discharge and provisions for a 400 MW power plant. <br />
