Recent assignments include: <br />(1) foundation design for an inverted siphon and bridge located in very <br />soft marine clay in Indonesia; (2) evaluation exploration and testing <br />program and foundation and embankment design for SS meter high earth and <br />rockfill dam located on geologically difficult foundation in Indonesia; <br />(3) directed extensive foundation exploration and testing program and <br />evaluation of strength parameters for foundation and embankment design <br />associated with a large dam in the Philippines. Project Engineer <br />for studies concerning 170 meter high dam in Canada. <br /> <br />Manager, Thurber Consultants, Ltd., Vancouver, Canada (1972-1973). <br />Responsible for administrat.ion, management, and engineering operations of <br />Vancouver office of est.ablished geotechnical engineering company. <br /> <br />Chief Soils and Foundation Engineer, Tippetts-Abbett-McCarthy-St.ratton, <br />Pakistan (1968-1972). Tarbela Dam Project, head of Soils and Foundation <br />Division which monitored design, as field conditions were revealed, of the <br />main and auxiliary embankment dams, cofferdams, tunnels, shafts, spillway <br />and other foundations, and cut slopes. In addition, the Division was in <br />charge of geological mapping and engineering, rock and alluvium grouting, <br />instrumentation programs, preparation of drawings, classification of <br />borrow materials, laboratory testing and exploratory drilling. <br />
