<br />define a damage function. Alternative functional
<br />forms are shown in Table 16 and data are shown
<br />graphically in Figure 1. As can he seen, the
<br />exponential form provides a close approximation of
<br />the data generated by the model runs.

<br />Results - Otber Areas
<br />
<br />Similar functions have been generated for all
<br />major areas of agricultural water use in the Lower
<br />Basin. Table 17 shows the results of the LP runs for
<br />each area and salinity level. As can be seen, the total
<br />annual damages over the 500 mg/I range result in an
<br />average impact per mg/I of $28,167 for Imperial, $73
<br />for Coachella, $139 for San Diego. $2,654 for Palo
<br />Verde, $756 for Colorado River Indian Reservation,
<br />$1,334 for the Yuma area, and $11 for the Central
<br />Arizona Project area. The total for all agricultural
<br />areas considered in the Lower Basin is $33,133 per
<br />mg/I annually. These numbers are only averages over
