.

.

VI. Task Description

Task 1: Compile aerial photographs of the Ruby-Horsethief Canyon
reaches. Digitize channel features on respective photographs.
Summarize data on channel change through time, and prepare
detailed maps of the study reaches.

Task 2: Re-survey cross sections at the study sites established in 1993,
and re-sample the substrate. Begin a series of flow and
suspended-sediment measurements in a single side channel to
examine how transport and deposition of fine sediment are
related.

VII. Study Schedule

Winter 1994: Compile aerial photographs and begin digitizing channel
features.

Spring 1994: Finish analysis of aerial photographs and summarize
results. Re-survey cross sections and sample substrate at all study
sites; begin sampling suspended sediment at one study site.

Summer 1994: Continue cross section monitoring at all sites and
continue suspended sediment measurements at a specific site. Compile
and reduce survey and flow data as necessary.

Fall 1994: Analyze flow data and sediment samples. Write summary
report.

VIII.
