The disturbing <br />factor is that there are <br />several cases where land <br />adjacent to the canal is <br />infested. Therefore, regardless <br />of the best efforts of the <br />District the farmers fears <br />will be realized. A weed <br />control district should again <br />be considered. <br /> <br />CORTEZ MAKES FIRST PAYMENT <br />FOR PROJECT M&1 WATER <br /> <br />The City of Cortez recently <br />paid installment No 1 for <br />its share of Municipal Project <br />water. The payme.nt was for <br />$57,866, which entitles the <br />City to 640 acre feet. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />CORTEZ & MVIC RECEIVE O&M <br />BLOCK NOTICES <br /> <br />In addition to repayment <br />for project water, both Cortez <br />and Montezuma Valley Irrigation <br />Company are to start paying <br />their share of the cost of <br />operating and maintaining <br />the proj ec t. That cost will <br />be $7,434 and $22,606 respect- <br />ively. <br /> <br />MCPHEE RESERVOIR FILLS FIRST <br />TIME <br /> <br />On June 23rd McPhee Reservoir <br />was declared full by the <br />Bureau of Reclamation. <br />That declaration ended a <br />four year filling process <br />that required that personnel <br />be on the structure 24 hours <br />a day 7 days a week while <br />the wa ter was rising.
