A - Visit with individual landowners throughout the year to provide them
with information and to provide an opportunity for agency personnel
to keep informed on local needs and attitudes.

B - A voluntary landowner demonstration farm program will be enacted.
The demonstration farms will receive accelerated technical
assistance for installation and operation of irrigation water
management practices. The demonstration farms will be closely
monitored to determine amounts of water applied and evaluated for
crop production levels for irrigation practices.

C - An Irrigated Agriculture Newsletter will be published.

D - Winter meetings and irrigation water management workshops in
cooperation with SCS will be provided to discuss new equipment,
irrigation techniques, water use information, production costs, and
monitoring information,

E - Informational packets on the salinity program and its use will be
prepared.

F - As the installation phase of each contract is completed, contact
will be made with the operator to point out ways of conserving water
and preventing deep percolation,

G - Develop an irrigation scheduling program for the irrigation project
area.

The Act gives the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) two primary
roles to fulfill. First, the USBR has responsibility for planning,
designing, and installing improvements for the off-farm segment of the
project, Second, the USBR has overall leadership for the salinity
control program throughout the Colorado River Basin, including
monitoring the total Federal cost of the project and administering the
repayment aspects of these Federal costs from power revenues.

Conservation District

The Conservation District (CD) is given the responsibility for
guiding the activities of the SCS. With this responsibility, the CD has
a voice in setting priorities and identifying the type of practices
needed for conservation of the resource base and for salinity control.

State of Wyoming

I

The State of Wyoming has played a major role in the plan formulation
and will continue to have a major role in coordination of efforts to
realize the implementation of the selected plan, The State has
responsibility for guiding the salinity control activities to assure the
