DlRECfOR TO: FROM: Gene Jencsok, Peter Evans Sue Uppendahl ~ September 21, 1993 DATE: SUBJECT: Directives from September 1993 CWCB Meeting Following is a description of the tasks we were given by the Board on the endangered fish Agenda Item 19a-e from the September 1993 Board meeting; 19a. Modifiable Flows - Have staff continue working with the FWS in developing guidelines for "modifiable flows." To accomplish this, hold a meeting facilitated by the University of Colorado - Denver with representatives from the CWCB, FWS, Water Users and Environmental groups. 19b. Enforcement Aa:reement - CWCB authorized Director to execute this agreement with the FWS. The signatory page is being prepared by the Attorney General's office, and will be ready for signature by September 20, or 21, 1993. 19c. Record of Resolution for Applicability of Enforcement Agreement to 581 cfs Appropriation for Instream Flow Protection in the 15 Mile Reach of the Colorado River This resolution was approved by the CWCB and will be kept with the executed copy of the Enforcement Agreement. No additional work on this item is required, although a similar Record of Resolution will be necessary for any future appropriation for the endangered fishes of the Upper Colorado River Basin. 1ge. .Joint Resolution with the ewCR and Colorado Wildlife Commission ewc for a Native Aquatic Species Facility The CWCB approved this Joint Resolution with the addition of Governor Romer to the list of names for copies to be sent to. This change was made and sent to the CWC for approval. Upon approval by the CWC, the CWCB Director and Chair will sign the Joint Resolution, anticipated to be completed by September 24, 1993. 19d. Acquisition of absolute water ri2hts 19f. Critical Habitat Desi2l1ation - These Agenda Items were not discussed the September 1993 meeting due to the time frame.
