Rifle Creek via
Harvey Gap Res. In dry
years, a majority of the
water supply for the
PCSA is pumped.
Therefore, this option
may only be useable in
average or wet years. If
water pumped during
these years could be
carried over, this could
help in future dry years.

Not effective.

Pumping cost estimated
at $12/al not including
addkional O&M costs (for
2,000 af & assuming
CRSP power rates);
Unestimated costs might
also include the possible
purchase of water from
Wolford Mtn. Reservoir or
other sources to replace
water pumped during a
mainstem call if needed in
addition to water from the
5.000 al Green Mtn. pool.

Storsge in Rifle Not estimsted.
Gap Reservoir has
never been
stopped due to
the Cameo Call(or
other mainstem
Colorado River
call).

24

- Could water stored in RG during average
or wet years be carried over to 8 dry year?
(this water would be Ilrstto spill, but il k is
to be spilled, could k be timed to coincide
with spring peak flow needs for the
endangered Ilsh?l
. Woutd have to examine ability to use
Green Mtn Res. as a replacement source.
- May be possible to operate pumps more
in the early part of dry years to maximize
effectiveness.
- Would CRSP power with low rates be
avansblel
- Would there be a problems with 8
pumping decree for irrigation only7; any
problems with expanded use 1
. Would storage or recreation use in Harvey
Gap be affsctedl
. Would need to involve FIC.
- Need more info on deliveries to PCSA to
analyze this option.
. Should also look at other options for
pumping water suppfy using existing or
new facilities.

. If 8 mainstem Colorado call was to stop
Rifle Gap storage, replacement releases
could be cslled lor lrom the 5,000 sl
reservation in Green Mtn. Reservoir.
- Calls by senior oil shale rights would be
treated similarly.
. Would not address Rifle Creek call.
