H r G H RES E R V 0 r R S TOR AGE
CON T r N U E S

March 1 storage in all major reseryoirs of the Western Division
System totaled 3,916,000 acre-feet which was 139 percent of the
1961-1980 historic March 1 ayerage and only 60,000 acre-feet less
than last year at this same time.

Individual Project water ownership in storage on March 1 was 165
percent of normal for the North Platte Project, 151 percent of
normal for the Kendrick Project, 84 percent on the Glendo Unit and
137 percent of the 1961-1980 ayerage for the Colorado-Big Thompson
Project.

With the high reservoir storage and forecasted near normal runoff
for the North Platte River area, early release of anticipated
excess water to full storage ownership was initiated from Guernsey
Reservoir on February 25, 1985. The Guernsey release was
progressively increased until reaching the target rate of 3,000
c.f.s. on February 28, 1985.

The total excess release for the month of February was 9,082
acre-feet.

7
