e. Toll Gate Creek channel improvement. Between the Toll
Gate Creek dam and Sand Creek, Toll Gate Creek would be improved
to convey the greater of either the maximum reservoir release or
the standard project flood resulting from runoff downstream
from the Toll Gate Creek dam. The existing channel would be
straightened and enlarged where necessary. Four drop
structures would be installed at appropriate locations.
Channel Blopes would be provided to prevent erosion. The
improved channel would consist of four reaches. Pertinent
data tor the Toll Gate Creek channel improvements are presented
in table 13.

Table 13
PERTINENT DATA
TOLL GATE CREEK CHANNEL IMPROVEMENT

Reach
Item E D C B A
Length in feet 5,800 4,800 1,600 5,400 2,400
Bottom width in feet 75 75 50 20 10
Side slopes 1 on 2 1 on 2 1 on 2 1 on 2 1 on 2
Design depth in feet 11 11 10 7-10 7
Design discharge in
cubic feet per second 10,000 7,000 5,000 4,000 800
Channel velocity in
teet per second 12 8 10 10 8
Riprap
Location Slopes SlOPeS Slopes Slopes Slopes
Thickness in inches 12 12 12 12 12
Fil ter layer in inches 6 6 6 6 6
DROP STRUCTURES
Structure Location ~ Drop in feet
1 30+00 Straight-drop 7.0
2 52+00 Straight-drop 7,0
3 70+00 l';traight-drop 5.0
4 90+00 St,aight-drop 5.0

f. Alternative channel improvements. In the event that
local interests are not willing to provide the necessary locsa
cooperation, the Sand Creek channel would be improved to pro-
vide capacity for reservoir releases.
