Irrigation system distribution <br />uniformity (DU) represents water entering the soil (usually represented by lo~ <br />soil moisture measurements in one-fourth of the field) divided by the water <br />'applied times 100. DU design is the designer's prediction of how the improved <br />irrigation system would distribute water uniformly across the field and store <br />water within the root zone.
