<br />002233 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MONTHLY REPORT <br />TO THE <br />COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />July 13, 1999 <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />Suoplemental Reoort of the 1999 Budget Act <br /> <br />As part of approving the fiscal year 1999-2000 budget, the Policy and Fiscal Committees of <br />the Assembly have imposed upon the Colorado River Board the requirement that it report quarterly <br />on the status of and progress being made to live within California's Colorado River water allocation. <br />The Board's first progress report to the Committees will be due at the end of October, <br /> <br />Revised 1999 Board Meeting Schedule <br /> <br />Included in the Board folder is a copy of the Board's meeting schedule for the remainder of <br />the year, It has come to my attention that some of the Board members have a conflict with the <br />meeting dates in August and September due to the National Water Resources Association conference <br />in Durango, Colorado, and the Water Education Foundation's symposium on "Managing the <br />Colorado River: Past, Present and Future" in Keystone, Colorado, After polling the Board members, <br />[ am proposing moving the meeting dates to August 4th and September 8, 1999. <br /> <br />AGENCY MANAGERS' REPORT <br /> <br />The Agency Managers have not met since the June Board meeting, <br /> <br />PROTECTION OF EXISTING RIGHTS <br /> <br />Colorado River Water Reoort <br /> <br />During May 1999, storage in the major Upper Basin reservoirs increased by 987,000 acre- feet <br />and storage in the Lower Basin reservoirs decreased by 161,000 acre-feet. Total System active <br />storage as of the end of May was 53,553 million acre-feet (mat) or 90 percent of capacity, which is <br />1,684 maf less than one year ago, <br /> <br />June releases from Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams averaged 17,730, 17,500 and <br />13,500 cubic feet per second (cfs), respectively, Planned releases from those three dams for the <br />month of July are 15,400, 16,400 and 14, I 00 cfs, respectively.
