<br />1801 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Twin Lakes and Mt. Elbert Forebay (a single purpose storage facility for <br />pumped-storage peak power development) were operated for regulation of <br />Project and non-Project water on a service basis, as well as for the <br />operation of Mt. Elbert Pumped-Storage Powerp1ant. <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir was operated for regulation of Project and non-Project <br />water on a service basis, as well as for I flood control, fish and <br />wildlife, and recreation purposes. <br /> <br />III. HYDROLOGIC CONDITIONS AND MAJOR WEATHER EVENTS - WATER YEAR 1987 <br /> <br />Runoff on the West Slope was near normal with inflow to Ruedi Reservoir <br />at 134,700 acre-feet (103 percent of normal). West Slope imports to the <br />Arkansas River Basin were restricted due to high storage levels in the <br />East Slope System. <br /> <br />Maximum temperature at Meredith occurred on J~ly 23, 1987 with 880, the <br />minimum temperature was recorded at -150 on December 10, 1986. Maximum <br />precipitation from snow was recorded on April 27, 1987 with 0.47 inch of <br />moisture. Maximum precipitation from rain occurred in the three day <br />period of July 28-30 with 1.27 inches of rain. <br /> <br />The Arkansas River Bas i n runoff was near normal on the lower system. <br />Turquoise Lake and Twin Lakes native runoff was about 60% and 94% <br />respectively. Pueblo Reservoir inflow was about 150% of normal. <br /> <br />Maximum temperature at Sugar Loaf occurred on July 25, 1987 with 830, <br />the minimum temperature was recorded at -200 on December 10, 1986. Max- <br />imum precipitation from snow was recorded on the weekend of November <br />1-3, 1986 with 1.42 inches of moisture from 17 inches of snow. Maximum <br />precipitation from rain occurred the weekend of August 22-24, 1987 with <br />1.03 inches of rain. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Twin Lakes maximum temperature was 840 on July 27, 1987 and mimimum <br />temperature was a -230 on January 20, 1987. 'Maximum precipitation was <br />recorded at 0.75 inch the weekend of July 25-27, 1987. Maximum <br />precipitation from snow was recorded on December 8, 1986 with five <br />inches of snow and 0.40 inch of moisture. <br /> <br />At Pueblo Reservoir, the maximum temperature; occurred on July 24, 1987 <br />with a 1040 reading. The minimum temperature reading of -130 was <br />recorded on January 17, 1987. C1imato10gi'ca1 readings indicate the <br />maximum amount of precipitation was recorded ion June 30, 1987 with 1.11 <br />inches of moisture.
