<br />1813 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Twin Lakes/Mt. Elbert Forebay combined storage totaled <br />at the end of the water year. Twin Lakes storage was <br />and Mt. Elbert Forebay was 7,690 acre-feet. <br /> <br />130,330 acre-feet <br />122,640 acre-feet <br /> <br />H. Pueblo Reservoir <br /> <br />At the end of water year 1986, Pueblo Reservoir content was <br />252,000 acre-feet. The Winter Water Storage Program was in effect from <br />November 14 through March 14, allowing the maximum dai ly storage in <br />Pueblo Reservoir of 20,179 acre-feet of water. The original storage of <br />winter water was stopped at 15,179 acre-feet. However, Highline Canal <br />Company requested storage of an additional 5,000 acre-feet. Pueblo Reservoir <br />reached its maximum storage on February 5 with an elevation of 4881.88 feet <br />and content of 271,060 acre-feet. <br /> <br />The high native runoff in the Arkansas River an'd the normal to above- <br />norma 1 prec i pi tat i on in the bas i n supp 1 i ed most of the needs of the <br />water users below Pueblo Reservoir during water ,year 1987 (exhibits 14 <br />and 15). <br /> <br />All of the 1986-1987 winter stored water plus 15,940 acre-feet of <br />Project water were released from storage during water year 1987. The <br />5,000 acre-feet of Highl ine winter water was released Apri 1 7 through <br />April 14 to bring the reservoir out of the !joint use pool. The <br />remaining 15,000 acre-feet of winter water was replaced with East Slope <br />Decree water from April 20 through April 24. Th~ water year ended with <br />229,780 acre-feet of water in storage in P~eblo Reservoir. The <br />1986-1987 winter water storage is shown on exhibit 16 and the releases <br />are shown on exhibit 17. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The pan evaporation rate used for computing Puebl,o Reservoir evaporation <br />is shown on exhibit 18. Table 8 and exhibit 19 show Pueblo Reservoir <br />operations during water year 1987. ' <br /> <br />I. Storage Contracts <br /> <br />In water year 1987, the Project had 8 contracts for storage of <br />water in Project storage space in the East Slope Storage System. Six <br />are long-term contracts: Twin Lakes Reservoir and Canal Company for <br />54,452 acre-feet, city of Colorado Springs for firm storage for <br />17,416 acre-feet, city of Aurora for 5,000 'lcre-feet, Pueblo Board <br />of Water Works for 5,000 acre-feet, High Line Canal Company for <br />10,000 acre-feet of storage space, and Homestake Project for <br />30,000 acre-feet of storage space. The remaining contracts were 1-year <br />interim contracts for if-and-when available stor~ge space. <br /> <br />J.
