<br />(~,i;,D <br /> <br />l\) <br />w <br />en <br />-.J <br /> <br />.:.... <br /> <br />~:~:.:.::.)(; <br />:,~~:.::..::::,... <br /> <br />,~;'-:c:.\ <br />:. ...~:~...... i <br /> <br />FOREWORD <br /> <br />The Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Act of June.24, 1974, <br />(Public Law 93-320) provides for the enhancement and protection of the quality <br />of water available in the Colorado River for use in the United States and <br />Mexico. This 1982 Annual Report on the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control <br />Program (CRBSCP) has been prepared to explain the progress, the activities, <br />and the salinity control accomplishments achieved by the U.S. Department'of <br />Agriculture (USDA) program. USDA has continued to maintain reasonable <br />progress with implementation of onfarm irrigation improvement and salinity <br />control under authority of existing programs. However, with modest funding <br />increases and legislative authority to establish a separate USDA onfarm <br />salinity control program for the Colorado River Basin, USDA feels further <br />improvements in the program may be achieved in the years ahead. <br /> <br />i <br />
