The supply would average about 95.5
percent of ideal requirements, Stream depletion resulting from the use
of water by the unit would average about 7,370 acre -feet annually. No
difficulties are expected in obtaining the water supply for the unit as
only excess water in the Yampa River would be utilized.

Re-pa,.ment

Irrigators on the Wessels unit would have an estimated payment
capacity of about $12,780 annually. Of this amount approximately
$12,700 would be required for operation, maintenance, and replacement
costs and practically nothing would be available for amortization of
construction costs. If the unit were authorized, essentially all of
the construction cost of $2,488,000 W011ld be requil~d from the UPFer
Colorado River Basin Fund.

Benefit-cost analysis

Irrigation benefits from the Wessels unit would amount to about
$119,400 annually, including direct benefits of $63,800, indirect
benefits of $28,200, and public benefits of $27,400. Ave_'s,gc annual
equivalent cost. would average $100,700 as developed in the tabulation
below,

Item
Construction cost
Interest during co~struction
Pre8e~t WOT~1 of t~rminal
salvace value
Net capital inve::tment
Operation, maintenance, and
replacement costs
Assigned cost of Colorado
Re:. ver Storage project
Total

TotaJ.
$2,4tl3,000
60,000

Average
an_-'1Ual value

o
2,548,000

$69,600

12,700

18,400
100,700

27
