A preliminary inventory of possible water <br />resource d.evelopments, based. on the d.ata then available, vas included in <br />tIle ilureau of Reclamation I s basin-type report of ~larch 1946 entitled "The <br />Colorado Hi vel''', published as House Document 419, 80th ConGTess, 1st Ses- <br />sion. <br /> <br />Present investigations <br /> <br />Present reconnaissance investigation!! lending to this repol.t on the <br />YaL'!pa-llhite project were initiated in Fiscal Year 1953. Available data <br />from previous investigations--private, State, and Federal--were utilized <br />where applicable. These include stream-gaCinG record.s and topoC>t'aphic Il:lCl <br />planimetric maps that vere prepared and published by the State of Colorauo; <br />Forest Service, United states Department of A~iculture; and GeoloL~cal <br />Survey, Unit€d States De-partment of Interior. <br /> <br />The investi,:;ation to date has been eenerally of a reconnaissance r,ature. <br />Field work has included reconnaissance land classification surveys in areas <br />""lere lanu "as deemed the limitinG factor for development; fly line S=V2YS <br />of cllnal lines; topo::;raphic surveys of reservoir and dam sites; Geolo[;lc <br />e"aminations of storage and diversion dam lJi tes, canal alic;nrnents, and <br />potential sources of constructioll materials; and tIle collection of data on <br />e;:istin(l in'i;:;ation facilities and aGricultural development.
