This proposal includes off-farm improvements
(canal and lateral lining) evaluated in Reclamation's report. The proposal would implement the
plan included in Reclamation's report through a construction cooperative agreement. The
effectiveness of this project was estimated at 27,700 tons per year, but may be as high as 68.560
tons. To be consistent with other projects, the averaie of the two estimates (48,1 ~O tons per
year) was used. The perfonnance risk of this proposal is comparable to other irrigation
improvement projects and deemed acceptable. The rankinl! committee recommends that
Reclamation oroceed with ner:otiations for the imDlementation of this DtoOOsaI.

Uncompahgre Valley Proposal- This proposal is based on Reclamation's report titled, Lower
Gunnison Basin Unit, East Side Laterals, Supplemem to the Feasibility Report, dated September
1994. This proposal includes off-farm improvements evaluated in Reclamation's report (canal
and lateral lining). The proposal would implement the plan included in Reclamation's report
through a constrUCtion cooperative agreement The costs included in the report assume about a
40 percent savings due to construction by the district. The performance risk of this proposal is
comparable or better than other irrigation improvement projects due to past work done by the
district on other salinity control improvements. However, at this time, the cost of the proposal is
significantly higher than the other proposals. The rankin~ committee doe.~ not recommend
imolementation of this orooosal at this time.

OOCL20
