April through <br /> <br />Tab le A-8 <br />Ute Reservoir Drawdown <br />Feet Acre-feet <br />3 3,900 <br />9 11,000 <br /> <br />7 <br />19 <br />6 <br />Sept embe r. <br /> <br />8,500 <br />21 , 700 <br />7,300 <br /> <br />d, Drainage Facilities <br /> <br />Project drainage facilities would be provided on full and <br />supplemental service land in the project area, except for the supple- <br />mental service land receiving water by exchange, in locations that <br />demonstrate drainage needs during the early years of project operation. <br />Preliminary estimates based on an examination of soil and topographic <br />characteristics indicate a need for about 45 miles of buried pipe drains, <br />55 miles of shallow collector ditches and improved natural channels with <br />flowage easements, and 7 miles of flowage easements on natural channels <br />needing ,no improvement in Colorado; and 21 miles of buried pipe drains, <br />and 7 miles of shallow collector ditches and improved natural channels <br />with flowage easements in New Mexico (Bureau of Reclamation, 1979), The <br />pipe drains would be buried at depths rsnging from 7 to 10 feet, man- <br />ho les, and surface outlet channels. After the completion of construc- <br />tion and the restoration of vegetative cover, those portions of the <br />drains above ground, to be serviced by the district or tribes, would <br />consist of manholes, made of steel or concrete pipe, and the' collector <br />ditches and natural channels. <br /> <br />e. Recreation Facilities <br /> <br />Recreation facilities would be constructed at both project <br />reservoirs to help meet existing and projected needs in camping, fishing, <br />boating, picnicking, and sightseeing. The facilities would accommodate <br />2,720 people at one time and would have an estimated annual use of <br />307,500 recreation days. The locations of the facilities are shown in <br />Figure A-8, <br /> <br />The development at Ridges Basin Reservoir, accommodating <br />1,800 people at one time and 210,000 recreation days annually, would <br />include 10 miles of hiking trails, S4 camping units, 48 picnic units, a <br />group picnic area, a seven-lane boat ramp, a boat dock, 34 boat slips, <br />3 miles of paved access roads, 574 parking stslls, a fish cleaning sta- <br />tion, a beach, an entrance station, and an administrative building, <br />Drinking water, electricity (not at individual camp units), and minimal <br />sanitary facilities would also be provided, <br /> <br />To preserve the natural setting within the Ridges Basin <br />Reservoir boundary as much as possible, recreation facilities would be <br />A-23 <br />
