<br />~ <br /> <br />000582 <br /> <br />RECONNAISSANCE LEVEL STUDY <br />RIO GRANDE AT ALAMOSA <br /> <br />PURPOSE <br /> <br />A reconnaissance level investigation will develop viable <br /> <br />structual measures to lessen the erosion and flooding problems <br /> <br />along the Rio Grande at Alamosa and surrounding areas. The <br /> <br />report will describe and illustrate protective measures for the <br /> <br />study reach including associated costs and benefits. <br /> <br />The report <br /> <br />findings are intended to aid the community in Obtaining financial <br /> <br />assistance to construct and implement a plan-of-improvement. <br /> <br />LIMITS OF STUDY <br /> <br />The study reach for this report extends from a point <br /> <br />downstream from the city waste water lagoons, thence extending <br /> <br />upstream a distance of four miles. <br /> <br />CONTENT OF INVESTIGATION <br /> <br />The 30-day study investigation shall be performed by a <br /> <br />professional engineering consultant who will perform the <br /> <br />following work tasks for the project. <br /> <br />.~~ ePrefare a brief community description and profile <br /> <br />e Tabulate flood history and determine average annual flood <br />losses <br /> <br />319 <br />a/fcp <br />
