J as of Aprill, 2001 <br /> <br />o ~Y\. ~ <br /> <br />Additional snow accumulation during March in the Upper Rio Grande Basin has provided just <br />~:lnough ~now to prqp \l.P the basin's snowpack to the only ~bove average accumulation in the state. <br />The Apnl 1 measurements are at 102% of average, whIch IS only 1 % of average less than last month's <br />measurements. Accumulations range from only 88% of average in the Conejos and Rio San Antonio <br />Watershed, to 112% of average in the Culebra and Trinchera Watersheds. There is 69% more snow <br />than there was last year on the same date. Precipitationmeasurementsin the higher elevations was <br />only 76% of average during March causing the water year total to slip 6% of average from last month, <br />to 98% of average on April 1. Reservoir storage is about 9% above average for this time of year, but <br />is only 70% of the storage amount last year at this time. Stream forecasts for the runoff season have <br />decreased slightly fromlas! month for many of the forecast points, but most remain near to above <br />average.
