However, in order for the ditches to operate '.-Iel'. the <br />fields need to be leveled. Current leveling costs are running over <br />$100 per acre, depending on how much dirt ;s to be moved. This farm <br />represents the kind of system that we think is necessary for good water <br />management. Especially in this area where many farmers are employed <br />away from their farms. The use of these time operated gates makes it <br />possible for famers to successfully operate an irrigation system \'ihile <br />working at some other job.
