The Animas-LaPlata project is in southwestern Colorado and

orthwestern New Mexico in the San Juan River Basin. The project

tould develop the flows of the Animas and LaPlata River systems

for irrigation, municipal and industrial use, recreation, and
I
fish and wildlife enhancement.

The Dolores project. is just east of the Utah-Colorado State
line in southwestern Colorado. The project would develop the flows
of the Dolores River to provide irrigation water for about 61,000
acres. The project \'lould furnish municipal and industrial water
supply for the communities of Dove Creek and Cortez. Significant
.
recreation, fish and wildlife enhancement, flood control, area
redevelopment, and water quality control benefits would also be
realized from the development.
Opportunities for ,vater-based recre'ati-on p,ndfor fish and
wildlife enhancement would be afforded by the project in an area
nC\v nearly devoid of such opportunities.
The Dallas Creek project is in Delta, Montrose, and Ouray

Counties in west-central Col.orado.The __prqj,ec__t \>lollld develop the

water of the Uncompahgre River and its tributaries to provide
