~ +- '
RErp,/(O
M - 9 I )4

eweB

.'

000349

MEMORANDUM

TO: Ray Tenney
FROM: Chuck Brendecke
SUBJECT: Progress Report for February - Yampa Basin Study
DATE: March 8, 1994

Our February work effort was focused primarily on Tasks 7 and 8 with smaller efforts
expended in Tasks I, 2, and 6. In February we also received a subcontractor invoice for some
Task 11 work done in December.

Charges to Task 1 reflect ongoing project management and administration activities.

Charges to Task 2 reflect work related to our meeting with Tri-State Generation and
Transmission. This meeting was held to apprise them of the status and direction of the study
and to learn more about their, water rights and development plans,

Charges to Task 6 reflect modifications to the basin model to address the transfer of
19,000 af of the Juniper storage decree, the use of the more senior Synthetic Products Ditch
decree at the Craig Station, and some daily flow data analysis.

Charges to Task 7 reflect initial work on the Preliminary Environmental Assessment.
Certain aspects of this work are logical to do in parallel with preparing the draft Biological
Assessment (Task 8) because of their content and/or sources of information. Some of the
charges for water quality data summarization, for example, have been charged against Task 7;
only portions of that data are included in the Biological Assessment.

Charges to Task 8 reflect preparation of the draft Preliminary Biological Opinion. This
has involved outlining and writing of the report itself, integration of prose written by our
subcontractors, making some additional model runs, developing graphs and tables of model
outputs and other data, etc. The draft will be reviewed at our TSG meeting on March 14.

Charges to .Task 11 are associated with late invoice from W.J, Miller & Associates for
work done in December related to evaluation of diversion structures,

Please feel free to call if you have any questions or comments on our February work
effort.

cc: Bob Norman
.BW~S~tQ!1'

Hydrosphere Resource Consultants 1002 Walnut Suite 200 Boulder, Coloradn 80302

(I,\PflOJfCTS\193\OOl\PflOGMSSIVNnneDeIlVlOo,MAIICH8,18942:38f'MPflINTED: M...h 9. 18943'28l'M

'v"

i

,;n,~*~
