USGS scientist Lew Coggins was interviewed by a reporter from the Flagstaff <br />Daily Sun regarding research related to mechanical removal oftrout in the Grand <br />Canyon. Trout are not native to the Grand Canyon and prey upon the federally <br />cndangered humpback chub. USGS scientists are removing trout from a section of <br />the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park to determine if the chub <br />population will benefit from reduction of predators.
