No further delivery was made to Lake <br />Mathews between March 22 and August 19, 1944_ Beginning <br />in August and continuing to December the pumps were oper- <br />ated about two weeks each month to replenish Lake Mathews <br />storage. The low winter demand for water made pumping un- <br />necessary in the first three months of 1945, but in the last half <br />of April pumping was resumed and was repeated at intervals <br />in May and June. The total quantity pumped at the Hayfield <br />plant in this fiscal year was 38,631 acre feet. During the four <br />months when no delivery was made to Lake Mathews the pumps <br /> <br />,I <br />
