<br />Table 5: Designated uses and standards for the San Juan basin, New Mexico <br /> <br />2-400. SAN JUAN RIVER BASIN <br /> <br />2-401. The main stem of the San Juan River from the point where the San Juan <br />leaves New Mexico and enters Colorado upstream to U.S. Highway 64 at Blanco, <br />and any flow which enters the San Juan River from the Mancos and Chaco River, <br /> <br />A. Designated Uses: municipal and industrial water supply, irrigation, livestock <br />and wildlife watering, secondary contact recreation, marginal cold water <br />fishery, and warmwater fishery. <br /> <br />B. Standards: <br /> <br />1. In any single sample: dissolved oxygen shall be greater than 5.0 mgll, <br />pH shall be within the range of 6.6 to 8.8, and temperature shall be less <br />than 32.2 C (90 F). <br /> <br />2. The monthly logarithmic mean of fecal coliform bacteria shall not <br />exceed 200/100 ml; no single sample shall exceed 400/100 ml (see 1- <br />103.B). <br /> <br />2-402. La Plata River from its confluence with the San Juan River upstream to the <br />New Mexico-Colorado line. <br /> <br />A. Designated Uses: irrigation, limited warmwater fishery, marginal coldwater <br />fishery, livestock and wildlife watering, and secondary contact recreation. <br /> <br />B. Standards: <br /> <br />1.
