Lee Knous, <br />Governor of the State of Colorado, <br />Denver, Colorado. <br /> <br />Sirs, <br /> <br />The Ninth Annual Meeting of the Rio Grande Compact commission was <br />held in El Paso, Texes, on February 22,23 and 24, 1948, at which time the <br />Commission reviewed records of stream flow at all Compact Index Stations <br />and found, <br /> <br />(a) On January I, 1947, Colorado had an accrued credit of <br />37,300 aore feet. In 1947, Colorado incurred an annual <br />debit of 56,100 acre feet. After required adjustments <br />for evaporation losses, Colorado had en aoorued debit of <br />18.800 aore feet on December 31, 1947, <br /> <br />(b) On January I, 1947, New Mexico had an accrued debit of <br />105,400 aore feet. In 1947 New Mexico incurrad an annual <br />debit of 71,400 aore feet. After required adjustment for <br />evaporation losses, New Mexico had an accrued debit at <br />176,800 acre feet on December 31, 1947. <br /> <br />(0) Prior to January 1, 1947. the releases of usable water from <br />Rio Grande Project storage had amounted to 200,900 acre <br />teet in exoess of the normal release of 190.000 acre feet <br />provided by the Compaot, <br />In 1947, the release of usable water from Project storage was <br />728,aOO aere feet.
