15

,
.L:J..

WATER MANAGEMENT TECHNICAL SUBCOMMITTEE
ANNUAL REPORT
JULY 1, 1974 - JUNE 30, 1975

Three meetings of the subcommittee were held during the year, each
on the day preceding the meetings of the parent coml!\ittee. Chairman
Krous attended meetings of the Executive Subcommittee in San Francisco
on September 30, 1974, and May 15, 1975.

One of the main activities for the year was reporting on tasks listed
in the Executive Subcommittee's "Report on Basic Needs Concerning
Water Supply of the Colorado River" under the headings "Information
Needed" and "Capacity to Obtain Basic Data." No formal task force
was set up, but assignments were made to members of the subcommittee.
The information obtained, or their comments, were given to the
Chairman of the Executive Subcommittee.

Two task forces were active during the year. Dr. H. B. Osborn of the
Agriculture Research Service, Tucson, Arizona is heading a task force
that will prepare a report on the state of the art of weather modifi-
cation. They have been reviewing literature and consulting with
experts, but the inability to hold meetings due to travel restrictions
prevented completion of the report this year.

The River Milage Task Force, chaired by Howard F. Matthai, reported
that no neW milage indexes were published this year. Work is pro-
gressing on indexes for the Great Basin in Utah, the Lower Colorado
main stem and selected minor tributaries, and the State of California.
No progress has been made on several basins, and unless additional
help is volunteered, the subcommittee will be unable to complete this
assignment.

A list of the many publications of the PSIAC Water Management
Subcommittee was compiled by Kenneth G. Renard.
