Potential pro-
gram needs were identified and assigned to various members of a
task force for substantiation of need. The report was approved
by the parent Committee at the June meeting.

A principal responsibility of the Executive Subcommittee is de-
velopment of a recommended annual work program for approval by
the Committee. During the year progress on work programs of the
technical subcommittees was reviewed. Also, progress on CWIC
research projects recommended by PSIAC was reviewed. At the
June meeting, work programs of the technical subcommittees and
the Executive Subcommittee for FY 1976 were presented to the
parent Committee and approved.

The possibility of the Water Resources Council providing financial
support for a staff position for PSIAC was considered. Most
states expressed some support for the proposal. Further considera-
tion of the idea was dropped when WRC informed PSIAC that the
budget item had been deleted by OMB.

The extent of PSIAC involvement with WRC on the National Assess-
ment was considered. It was decided that WRC should deal directly
with the Regional Study Directors. PSIAC would help resolve any
differences should they arise.

The problem of selecting the chair agency for fiscal year 1976 was
resolved when California agreed to accept the chair.

The Corps of Engineers agreed to serve as Chairman of the Execu-
tive Subcommittee for FY 1976.

13
