Other District activities include preparation of materi,ll and
testimony for the hearings sponsored by the Stat.. Water Pollution
Control Conunission on proposals for inj ection of toxic wastes to the.
underground environment near Fort Horgan, ColoraJo, the continuing
programs of data collection, the mrIintenance of measuring stations,
and most recently the winterizing of our stream gages to insure
continuing records during the cold weather.

Several oral reports were given on our studies of water-m;m,_':;'?'lellt
practices to the Water Legislative Committee, at a seminar for ~t;!te
and Fcderal agencies, to the Southeastern Colorado Water CeJf13cn'a;lCY
District, and at a symposium in Pueblo sponsored jointly by Soul.hern
Colorado State College and the Southeastern Colorado Water Conse"",oncy
District. '
