.

As previously mentioned, present depletions by mainstream projects below
Hoover Dam were determined largely by records of measured diversions
from the river less measured returns to the river. Estimates of depletions
in fUture years were computed largely by multiplying irrigable acres under
full development by a use rate determined for each area based on recent
3- or 4-year averages of measured diversions and measured returns with

some minor modifications as diacussed in the second paragraph of

Section III hereof. Generally, for organized developments (irrigation

districts and Indian Reservations) between Davis and Imperial DIlIIIlI, a

use rate of 4.3 acre-feet per irrigable acre vas utilized. However,

. for two of the three contractors in Mohave County (Lake Havasu Irrigation

and Drainage District and the City of Kingman) a gradual buildup to the

full contracted diversion quantities, totaling 33.000 acre-feet. was

assumed. Tbe third contractor, Mohave Valley Irrigation and Drainage

District, was assumed to build up to a consumptive use of about 70 percent

of the full contracted diversion or about 35.700 acre-feet. For

miscellaneous users, a use rate of about 70 percent of the average

diversion rate of 6 acre-feet per acre was utilized since there are

no records of returns. For organized districts in Arizona below

Imperial Dam, a use rate of approximately 4.6 acre-feet per acre was

utilized. On the Reservation Diviaion of the Yuma Project in

8

.
