Water Utilization

Preproject Yater supply

Prior to construction of any features of the Paonia project, land"
aestined to be included in the project's Fire ~buntain division received
irrigation water froi;1 the North Fork River and trJ,butary streams inter-
cepted by the Fire l>buntain Canal end from Leroux Creek including vater
conveyed to Leroux Creek by the Upper Overland ditch. Lands in the east-
ern part of the diviaion were served only from the Fire lI.ountain Canal
wbile those in the western part were served only from Leroux Creek. An
intermediate area located on both sides of Leroux Creek received water
from both sources. For en analysis of the preproject water supply, lands
of the Fire Mountain division are segregated into an area east of Leroux
Creek and an area west of Leroux Creek.

, The preproject supply for lands in the Leroux Creek division ''''s
obtained entirely from Leroux Creek but included importations to that
stream.
