In addition to the users listed on Table 4, mis-
cellaneous users divert from the Colorado River
or pump from wells adjacent to the mainstream.
Gross diversions of these miscellaneous users in
California, Atizona and Nevada are estimated to
have amounted to more than 100,000 acre-feet
a year for the past several years.
On November 14, 1968, the Secretary of the
Interior entered into three contracts for deliv-
ery of Colorado River water to Arizona entities.
The contractors and quantities involved are: the
City of Kingman for future diversions of 18,500
acre-feet per year; Lake Havasu Irrigation and
Drainage District fot 14,500 acre-feet per year
of groundwater pumpage; and Mohave Valley
feet per year of groundwater pumpage.
The llureau of Reclamation releases water at
Hoover Dam to satisfy requirements for the
Mexican Water Treaty and sixteen separate
agencies in the United States; thirteen of the
agencies are served by diversions at Imperial
Dam. The nearest major regulating structure to
Imperial Dam is Parker Dam, located 148 miles
upstream and three days' flow time from Im-
perial Dam. Senator 'Vash Dam completed in
1966 on a tributary upstream from Imperial Dam
provides for a limited but valuable amount of ad-
ditional regulation. The ordered flow at Imperial
Dam is seldom rhe precise rate actually required
owing to changes in the weather and other fac-
tors during the travel rime from Parker Dam.
The storage provided at Senator Wash is used
to balance, insofar as possible, river flows with
requirements. Plate 7 shows the periods of time
required for Parker Dam releases to reach vari-
ous agricultural areas.

Deliveries to Mexico. The Bureau of Recla-
mation maintains a "control schedule" which
includes the scheduled deliveries to Mexico plus
releases from storage for sluicing, river regula-
tion and other purposes. The scheduled deliv-
eries, control schedules and excess deliveries to
Mexico for recent years are shown in Table 5.
Plate 8 shows dehveries to Mexico by years
from 1951 through 1968, and Plate 9 shows the
same information by days for the water year
1967-68. The continued improvement in river
control can be judged by comparison of the total
excess deliveries to Mexico over the control
schedule the past few years, as shown in T a-
ble 5.
