<br />staff also is an active panicipant in the Coordi-
<br />nated Planning Subcommittee.
<br />In addition to attending meetings of the sev-
<br />eral groups and committees, the Board staff re-
<br />viewed and commented on work output from
<br />the policy groups and study work groups; re-
<br />viewed and commented on study methodology
<br />and criteria; presented suggestions on procedures
<br />and criteria; and offered data from studies per-
<br />formed by the Board.
<br />The first part of 1968 was taken up by the
<br />study work groups collecting and coordinating
<br />data from the various state and federal agencies
<br />and interchanging data among the work groups.
<br />The economics work groups were especially
<br />busy in disaggregating the projections from the
<br />

<br />output model of each region's economic activi-
<br />ties. Although being interested in the activities
<br />of all of the Lower Colorado Region work
<br />groups, the Board was particularly active in the
<br />following work groups: (1) water resources,
<br />(2) municipal and industrial water requirements,
<br />(3) irrigation and drainage, (4) water quality,
<br />pollution control, and health factors, (5) eco-
<br />nomics, (6) legal and institutional environment,
<br />and (7) general program and alternatives.
<br />One of the most important items concerning
<br />the Type I Studies was the criteria and assump-
<br />tions to be adopted that would define the Colo-
<br />rado River water supply. The Board's position
<br />on Colorado River water supply was stated in
<br />the November 13, 1968, letter from the Chief
