The destiny of Red Mesa communities was
determined in Santa Fe in 1922. Without sufficient water,
agricultural productivity was reduced so drastically that
farmers were forced to move from the land.

Today, that destiny can be reversed by completing the Animas.
La Plata project. Water sent to New Mexico can be replaced
by the Animas.La Plata Project. Project facilities will provide
the water resources necessary to assure that Durango and all
La Plata County residents will have the opportunity to make
decisions in the future without the restrictions imposed by
water shortage.

....- ..,........-----,..
