It contains four generating units having a total capacity of
100,000 kw, Two of these units belong to the District, The United
States continued the use of District units 3 and 4, and as provided
in the supplemental contract of July 19, 1943, credited the District
with $475.00 per day for each unit, to be applied on the amortiza-
tion of the District's portion of the cost of the entire power plant.
A second 161-kv transmission line from Parker Dam to Phoenix
was completed and placed in service on December 13, 1945. Some
Boulder energy purchased from the Southern California Edison
Company, Limited. and the City of Los Angeles, and transmitted
over the District's system to Parker power plant is being delivered
to Salt River Valley Water Users' Association over this line.
Studies and surveys were made of a proposed 230-kv tie line
between the District's transmission line at Gene and a bank of
transformers at Parker Dam, A contract for these transformers
has been awarded, The present 69.kv tie line with a transformer
capacity of 33,000 kva is inadequate to effectively interchange
energy.
Energy transmitted by the Parker system during the tiscal year
ending June 30, 1946 is shown in the following operating summary:

KWH.

\

f;ro".. energy genf'r:tled at Parker Darn...
Energy pureha~f'd

693.76;,000
...., 69.2101,010

_To!aLgeneraLe(Lalld_purdla.<;eJ ~_~,_.~762.9i8,OlO-- - - "- - - ~- -

Ellergy snld m.
Energy fnr '-lalir'll It~l>
J.,_,,,<;('<; in !:-yslem

....695.660..'6;
l.ORO,OOn
.. , 66.237.646

Tolal nu..

.. ............762.C)7H,OIO

II

I

~
