<br />-w <br />0- <br />W <br />',-i:>o <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />IV CONCLUSIONS <br /> <br />1. .Lands managed by BLM are a significant area (44%) of the Upper Colorado <br />River Basin yet they contribute a relatively modest load in relation to <br />other sources of total river salinity. <br /> <br />2. Salinity reductions have been or will be implemented through a variety <br />of Bureau decisions and actions. <br /> <br />3. Improved land use practices will reduce this contribution even further <br />if cause and effect are more precisely knotvu. <br /> <br />4. The Bureau is currently conducting and will pursue new scientific in- <br />vestigations to refine the understanding of the effects of surface dis- <br />tributing activities on salinity. <br /> <br />-( <br /> <br />--, -:-~ <br /> <br />f' <br /> <br />
