<br />l\) <br />CJ1 <br />o <br />0) <br /> <br />to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and that court ruled <br />against the City by upholding the District Court's decision. <br />No further action has been taken. <br /> <br />Other Activities - The State of Nevada is continuing to <br />coordinate activities between Reclamation and the Nevada <br /> <br />power Company in furthering the proposal for the industrial <br /> <br />use of saline water from the Virgin River for cooling the <br /> <br />proposed Harry Allen Power Plant. <br /> <br />New Mexico <br /> <br />NPDES Permits - Authority for issuing permits has not <br />been granted to the State and the program is being <br />administered by EPA, Region VI. EPA is following the Forum <br />policy in the administration of the permit program. In the <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin within the state, the following <br />industrial permits have been issued: electric power - 3; <br />coal mines - 3; uranium mines - 3; and gravel plants - 3; <br /> <br />and Navajo Dam (water, sewer, and utility lines) -1. All <br /> <br />permits are consistent with the Forum's policy regarding salt <br /> <br />discharge. <br />EPA has determined that discharges covered by the <br />uranium mine permits will contribute less than 350 tons of <br />salt per year to the nearest perennial stream segment of the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Colorado River. <br /> <br />Municipal discharge permits have been issued for three <br /> <br />major and two minor sewage treatment plants, one water <br /> <br />-30- <br />
