Agricultural Economy

Farm budgets were prepared for estimating irrigation benefits
using the same basic data used in the payment capacity analysis with
the following important differences: (1) as shown previously in
table 10, crop yields were increased on both "without" and "with"
budgets to reflect technological advances anticipated at about the
economic midpoint of this analysis; and (2) farm operating costs
were increased to be consistent with increased yields.

Financial summaries, showing income and expenses of the
representative farms used to estimate irrigation benefits, are
presented in table 17.
