. ,,"'.,:'" I' i. l.l J ,j Plan of Developrr~nt PROJECT COSTS The estimated total project cost of the Narrows Unit as shown on the Basic Estimate DC-l Summary, exhibit 5, is $61,820,000. Estimates are based on costs prevailing in October 1965. Contin- gencies of 20 percent were applied to all facilities. Indirect costs of 26 percent of field costs were applied to all identified properties. These indirect costs include costs for service facilities, investiga- tions and surveys, designs and specifications, supervision of con- struction, and general expense. General property costs include funds for the superintendent's residence, office and shop at Narrows Dam; general service equipment; and communications facilities. They also include funds for recreation and fish and wildlife development including land and rights, facilities, and rehabilitation of Jackson Lake Dam. . CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE As shown on the Control Schedule, exhibit 6, the construction period for all features of the Narrows Unit except ultimate recreation facilities is nine years, with storage in the Narrows Reservoir start- ing about nine months before completion of the dam. The construction schedule for the remaining recreation facilities will be determined by the administering agency primarily on an "as needed" basis. Con- struction of the Union Pacific Railroad relocation would be necessary be:fore construction on the dam could be started. Negotiations ldth the railroad, :field work, design, and preparation of specifications would require about 2-1/2 years before the railroad relocation contract could be awarded. Construction of the dam could start about 2-3/4 years later. Rights-of-way are scheduled to be acquired as they are needed. ALTERNATE PlANS Weld County Dam and Reservoir Site .
