<br />, <br /> <br />~ <br />.,to. <br />"-J <br />....:.l <br /> <br />Site 21 is 59.4 acres of irrigated alfalfa and uses 2 <br />sideroll sprinkler irrigation systems. The flow meter and <br />pipeline delivery system to this field was. installed in the <br />spring of 1993 just prior .to the start of the irrigation <br />season. Four wells were installed on this field to monitor <br />the soil moisture throughout the irrigation season. Two <br />wells are four feet deep and two wells are six feet deep. <br />The neutron probe was not available to use during this <br />irrigation season due to not having a qualified person to <br />use it and to some minor malfunction in the equipment. <br /> <br />:;l~~j <br />~> <br /> <br />Site 22 is 48.4 acres of irrigated alfalfa and uses 2 <br />sideroll sprinkler irrigation systems. The flow meter and <br />pipeline delivery system to this field was installed in the <br />spring of 1993 just prior to the start of the irrigation <br />season. <br /> <br />Site 23 is 126.1 acres of alfalfa and new alfalfa. There <br />are three sideroll irrigation systems and two hand sets on <br />this farm. The flow meter and pipeline delivery system was <br />installed late May, 1993. The farmer was not able to <br />irrigate all fields due to the lateness of water delivery. . <br />Two wells were installed on one of the fields being <br />monitored on this farm. Water samples were taken from these <br />two wells for analysis. <br /> <br />Site.25 is 62 acres of alfalfa and alfalfa-grass mixture and <br />uses 3 sideroll sprinkler irrigation systems. The flow meter <br />and pipeline delivery system to this field was installed in <br />the spring of 1993 just prior to the start of the irrigation <br />season .. <br /> <br />>>':, I <br />":':.._~,.:,: <br /> <br />site 26 is 160 acres of alfalfa and uses 4 sideroll <br />sprinkler irrigation systems. The flow meter and pipeline <br />delivery system to this field was installed in the spring of <br />1993 just prior to the start of the irrigation season. <br /> <br />Sit~ 27 is 327.3 acres of alfalfa and alfalfa-grass mixture <br />and uses 8 sideroll'sprinkler irrigation systems. The flow <br />meter and pipeline delivery system to this field was <br />installed in the spring of 1993 just prior to tbe start of <br />the irrigation season. <br /> <br />The rainfall amount that fell during the 1993 irrigation <br />season (May 1 through September 30) was 2.4 inches. The ET <br />rate for the same period was 31.1 inches (modified Penman <br />equations) and was taken from the CSU Extension Service's <br />weather statton located in the center of the area being <br />monitored for M&E. <br /> <br />6 <br />
