Project water will be provided to the La Plata Water <br /> <br />Conservancy District, inc1ud ing the City of Durango, in Colorado, <br /> <br />the La Plata Conservancy District and the cities of Aztec, <br /> <br />B1oo~fie1d, and ?armington in New Mexico, the Ute Mountain ute <br /> <br />and Southern Ute Indian Tribes and the Navajo Tribal Utility <br /> <br />Authority. <br /> <br />Primary storage would be provided at the offstream Ridges <br /> <br />Basin Reservoir, which would receive water pumped from the Animas <br /> <br />River near Durango, Colorado. Additional storage would be <br /> <br />provided by the offstream Southern Ute Reservoir, which would <br /> <br />receive water diverted from the La Plata River near the Co1orado- <br /> <br />New Mexico state line. <br /> <br />~he project would provide an average annual water supply of <br /> <br />198,200 acre-feet, including 118,100 acre-feet for the <br /> <br />irrigation of 70,100 acres and 80,100 acre-feet for municipal and <br /> <br />industrial llSeS. Of the lands to be irrigated, about 14,200 <br /> <br />acres are situated on the Indian reservations. Of the 80,100 <br /> <br />acre-feet allocated for municipal ana industrial uses, about <br /> <br />41,700 acre-feet would be provided to Colorado, and 38,400 <br /> <br />acre-feet would be provided to New Mexico. The supply for <br /> <br />Colorado would include 8,200 acre-feet for the Durango area, <br /> <br />1,000 acre-feet for the rural communities in the La Plata River <br /> <br />-2- <br />
