<br />eight subbasins in order to facilitate both the preparation and
<br />presentation of the plan. Also included is a set of basinwide
<br />and statewide recommendations which should be considered and used

<br />This, report p'resents the' water and related land resources
<br />management plan for the Missouri River Basin. The plan was
<br />prepacred through the- joint efforts of the 23 State, Federal, and
<br />interstate' members, of the Missouri River Basin Commission as well
<br />as nuu.rouao.ther water resource agencies. Chapter 11 containa.
<br />the, final: environmental. impaetstatement on' the" plan. which was
<br />prepared in accordance with- th. National Environmental. Policy 1lct
<br />.of 1969.

<br />The purpose of the plan is to serve as a definitive yet
<br />.flexible guide: for. the developnent, conservation, preservation.
<br />and management of water and related land resources in. the
<br />Missouri River Basc:l.n. Because- the findinga in' the plan are the
<br />produc~of extensive interagency and interstate ccoperation.and
<br />coilective juagment, they are a reliable guide for programming
<br />.and budgeting for all levels of government. The reeo_ndations
<br />are intended to support the Congress, the Federal Government, and
<br />States in prograJllllli.ng, budgeting, and funding water resources.
<br />.programs and projects in the Missouri River Basin.
