A Variety of Regulations Are Needed to Serve Multiple <br /> <br />Objectives <br /> <br />Chapter II discusses regul&tions set ,out in Figure II. <br /> <br />These involve a variety of <br /> <br />state and local regula- <br /> <br />tions which are 'designed explicitly <br /> <br />to reduco flood losse~ <br /> <br />indirectly to reduce <br /> <br />flood losses, or which have potential <br /> <br />with minor modifications to reduce losses. These regulations may be directed to a range <br /> <br />of coastal acti vi ties and be designed to achi'eve a variety <br /> <br />of interrelated but distinct objectives: <br /> <br />1.
