The mine <br />site will be reclaimed as the mining operations <br />proceed. The major negative impacts due to the <br />transmission lines' construction will be soil <br />erosion (primarily during construction) and their <br />visual intrusion upon the landscape. <br /> <br />VI. The alternates considered were: (1) not provide <br />additional power; (2) purchase power from other <br />systems; (3) construct multiple generating plants; <br />(4) various fuels; (5) various plant sites; (6) <br />various methods of generation; (7) alternate trans- <br />mission line routes. <br /> <br />VII. Comments have been requested from Federal, State, <br />local and other agencies listed on the following <br />pages. <br /> <br />VIII.
