Tabulated breakdown of areas, as indicated in par~raph 2 above, are given <br />in following table form, p~es 66 to 83, inclusive 0 <br /> <br />GENERAL INFORMATION AS TO mE DETERMINATION <br />OF RIVER MILEAGES SHOWN <br /> <br />River mile~es were determined from the latest available Corps of Engi- <br />neers survey maps of the streams, supplemented by surveys for reservoir areas. <br />If stream or reservoir survey maps were not available, then mile~es were com- <br />piled f'rom the latest published maps, such as those prepared by the U. S. <br />Geological Survey, Mississippi River Commission, National Forest Service, <br />Bureau of' ,Soils - U.S.D.A., etc. <br /> <br />As a matter of specific in1'o:nmtion the source of certain mile~es is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />(1) Main Stem of the White River. - From the mouth to mile 285 near <br />Newport, Arkansas, the river miles are as shown on the Mississippi <br />River CoDllll1ssion quadrangles. From mile 285 to mile 404 near Cotter, <br />Arkansas, the mileages were determined from the White River 1940 <br />Survey Maps (Cotter to Batesville) prepared by the Corps of Eng:l:neers. <br />From mile 404 to about mile 625 near Beaver, Arka.neas, river miles <br />were determined from the Bull Shoals and. Table Rock Reservoir maps <br />prepared by the Corps of Engineers. Above the Table Rock Reservoir <br />maps the mile~e was determined from the U.
