The Record of Decision on
Western's Electric Power Marketing EIS
(EPM EIS)* established a commitment
level for capacity and energy allocations
that became the basis to amend the firm
power contracts between Western and its
customers. These allocations became
effective on April I, 1997. According to
replacement power provisions of the
amended contracts, optional short-term or
seasonal replacement power could be

requested by Western's firm power
customers by April 1998. Optional long-
term replacement options could be re-
quested two years after that.

Until short-term replacement power
purchases are requested, Western expects
to supply the firm-power customers entire
contract rate of delivery through SLeAlIP
resources and firming purchases.

. Salt Lake City Area Integrated Projects Electric Power Marketing Final EIS, DOFJEIS-O 150,
Western Area Power Administration. dated Janu8I)I1996. Record of Decision. dated October 17. 1996.

II
